Staff

Tinkerbell

Director Debra Gibbons holds a BA in Early Childhood Education and a CDA in Early Childhood Development and an MS in Marriage and Family. Before becoming director and owner of Little Gems Preschool, Debra worked as a school counselor for the Northshore School district. She has also taught children for over 25 years, and continues to teach in each class room one day per week at both schools. This gives her the opportunity to actively engage with each child, make herself more available to parents, and work side-by-side with her teachers. Debra is available Fridays for conferences and consultations.

Our lead teachers are trained educators with backgrounds in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. All lead teachers must have a minimum of two years prior teaching experience. Teaching assistants must have Early Childhood experience and must engage in continuing education with the Stars Program after hiring. All teachers and teaching assistants are required to have first aid, CPR, and infectious disease training. A State Highway Patrol background check is performed on all job candidates. All teachers and teaching assistants are supervised on a weekly basis by the director and have a formal yearly evaluation.
